Hi, I'm Magüi Moreno

Certified mindfulness teacher, parenting and wellbeing coach for parents of neurodivergent children

Woman in striped shirt standing in front of a blooming cherry blossom tree.

I support moms and dads raising neurodivergent children, at any age and any stage. Because navigating parenting journeys isn't easy. And neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences) can make it feel so much harder and isolating.

But it doesn't have to be this way. My work is all about YOU and supporting you, as the carer, to reduce your anxiety and prevent burnout. Because we can only truly help our kids when we ourselves are ok.

My parenting journey

When motherhood ain't easy

Before the birth of my only child and his initial diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (later complemented by ADHD and Specific Language Disorder), my husband and I underwent four years of unsuccessful fertility treatments. Adrian's autism marked a turning point in my journey toward a more present, kind, and joyful life, free from excessive demands and perfectionism(you can read about the impact of his autism diagnosis here). I decided to set aside my international development career to retrain as a mindfulness teacher and wellbeing coach. For the past 15 years, I have been able to reduce my anxiety levels, tone down my need for control, and decrease my fear of the future, and so can you. I'm here to help. Because in 2009, a US-study confirmed what we already know: that autism mums have similar stress levels to active-combat soldiers. This is unacceptable and unsustainable.

What I'm Passionate About...

... is working with mothers (and fathers) who are willing to reevaluate many aspects of their lives, to let go of what's weighing them down and embrace what nourishes them-including the connection with their children-beyond societal expectations. I'm also passionate about sharing knowledge: I'm the author of When Your Child Is Different (to be published in English in 2026), a comprehensive guide to navigating atypical parenthood, and the producer of the only Spanish-language podcast focusing on the wellbeing of parents of neurodivergent children. Above all, I'm committed to contributing to greater acceptance and respect for the neurodiversity of humanity. As both a mother and a professional, I continue to advocate for the necessary support systems that enable our children to reach their full potential in safe, kind, and neuro-affirming environments.

My life today

Originally from Madrid, Spain, I've spent more than half of my life living in different countries including the US, the UK, Tunisia, Mozambique, and South Africa (where my son was born). I currently live in Washington, D.C. with my Scottish husband and teenage son. In 2018, we moved from the UK to the United States in search of better educational and therapeutic services for my son. Around the same time, I focused my coaching practice on supporting neurodivergent families, set up my podcast and got my certification as a mindfulness teacher.

My credentials and experience

I'm an MMTCP Certified Mindfulness Teacher through The Awareness Training Institute and Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, I'm a Transpersonal Consultant from the Transpersonal Development Institute and a Strategic Coach by the Strategic Coaching Academy of Tino Fernández, who trained with Tony Robbins. I hold a degree in Sociology and Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's in International Relations from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Let's stay in touch...

You are not alone! Parents and families of neurodivergent individuals can, together, make visible our needs and struggles, as well as all that our children can and do contribute to society. This is essential for progress toward a better understanding, acceptance and appreciation of neurodiversity.

To that end, I share aspects of my experience of atypical motherhood through:
